Mental Health & Wellness Workshop for Women of Color

For Mental Health Month, and to recognize the importance of mental health in our community and celebrate Juneteenth, IEYF hosted our first Mental Health & Wellness Workshop for Women of Color.

The event consisted of a community-based forum dedicated to mental health and wellness for women of color. Women and girls were provided with culturally specific mental health resources through an interactive therapeutic session, yoga, networking, and much more.

African American women and girls face unique and specific barriers to mental health. The Black community constantly deals with generational pain, suffering, and frustration. As we are not looked upon as people who need mental health services, it is the responsibility of our community to assist and provide the necessary resources to help heal ourselves.

The event was FREE. We are looking forward to our next mental health workshop. Be sure to follow IEYF on Instagram and Facebook and sign up for our monthly newsletter.
